Sold $ISHARES S&P/TSX COMPOSITE HIGH DIV UNITS (XEI.CA)$ , sure as getting some nice dividends but the growth wasn't there to balance it. Bought $ISHARES S&P/TSX 60 INDEX ETF UNIT (XIU.CA)$ instead to get best of both. Did I make the right choice? $VANGUARD S&P 500 INDEX ETF TR UNIT (VFV.CA)$ $VANGUARD FTSE CDN HIGH DIVID YIELD TRUST UNIT (VDY.CA)$

For all those out there with a hunger for dividend income I wanted to pose a question and get a discussion going around it cause I'm honestly curious. Many people invest in either $VANGUARD FTSE CDN HIGH DIVID YIELD TRUST UNIT (VDY.CA)$ or $ISHARES S&P/TSX COMPOSITE HIGH DIV UNITS (XEI.CA)$ when looking for dividends from the Canadian market but why isn't $HDIV the more sought after option?
