a fluffy ape : regarding the ev discussion, when considering it, how is the energy generated, how are those components created, what are their materials and processes, and what are the lifecycles and disposal methods for those parts.  not just for the vehicles, but the entire system. when you break it all down, oil is still a major part of that system.  further, what is the efficiency of the energy transfer and conversion in that system. ev has a long way to go before it can be an effective replacement.
