What is a wealthy person?
The definitions in the Scandinavian Peninsula and the USA are certainly different.
Wealth largely depends on one's perspective. Just like beauty, it depends on the eye of the beholder.
But for the poor, it is more specific and Algo. At least it is for me.
In the Scandinavian Peninsula, poverty means:
– Your mother used to always drink tea, but after you moved out, she switched to coffee because that was what she really liked.
– Because of rent, you won't go to Holland with your football team to attend that brilliant match.
– There are no trendy clothes and toys, always getting second-hand ones six months late.
I will not enumerate how bad the poverty situation is in the USA. The answer would be too long and sad.
But I agree with the perspective from the USA: being wealthy in Denmark is much worse than being wealthy in the USA.
– We did not receive a tax cut.
– We cannot influence politicians through donations. While there is a bit of influence, it is actually not significant. Of course, it won't be donations at the level of Musk.
– Even if we are elected president, we are not allowed to place loyalists in the Supreme Court (thank God, Denmark does not have such positions).
I can continue to talk, but what I want to say is that there is a large wealth gap between our countries.
The rich in the USA are getting richer.
The poor in the USA are poorer.
Danish society is more balanced—or rather more equal—I like it this way.
