Tesla was able to corner consumer EV market because they were first. Since then their market share has shrunk and within 5 years most major car companies will have larger MS than Tesla for EV. They are far from first to market with Semi trucks so do not have the possibility of capturing market before others.
Once Tesla has to operate in a real world market with competition from competent manufacturers they will not stand a chance. Tesla will be the Myspace of the EV world.

Tesla is only #1 in EV because they were first. Their market share will only decrease from here, Tesla Semi will not change that, in 5 years they will not even be a top 5 EV manufacturer.
Tesla created the EV market, no one can deny that. Companies become market makers by creating and cornering a market before there is real competition, then staying ahead of the newcomers.
