Started Trading because of friends. We were discussing on ways to generate passive income rather than spending hours working. One of my friend say we just need a certain amount of savings in bank to act as emergency fund. If the amount of "excess" money we keep in bank, the interest rate we gaining is only around 0.06% PA. That's where investment and buying stocks came in. Some stocks even comes with bonus like dividends. No doubt stock price might fall. But as long as we don't sell, there's still chance for the stock to rebound back to positive value. Patience is virtue. Some stock takes time to grow.

Taking on debt to trade might as well play contra stock. To gain profit, obviously we just need buy low sell high. But if you loan a debt for investment, it becomes gambling. With our own money, we have the luxury to hold the stock as long as we want without incurring interest.
