TSMC is approved to set up jasm Fab in Japan with a maximum of 237.8 billion yen (about 13.364 billion yuan) to engage in the manufacturing, sales, testing and circuit aided design of integrated circuits and other semiconductor devices, so as to meet the needs of Japanese customers nearby.
