Stick to long term investment is because honestly it is not easy to watch all the time for the market.
How to select the companies as long term investment?
1. realistic question, is the company profitable?
2. hardly substitute by others? or hard for new entrant to enter the industry?
3. doing good in the operation? reading news for this
4. do you have enough confidence towards the company? means if the price is dropping but you will not selling it due to panic
5. or if you have selected the ETF, is the ETF has a diversify portfolio?
therefore, I think quite a lots factors you need to consider when you have decided to go for a long term investment
happy trading

The common mistake while trading is follow rumours, FOMO and then buy the stock at high price and when it dropping and scare and sell it fast fast 😆
you must have confidence towards the shares you plan to hold…and don’t sell it just due to panic…

I started using Moomoo just to check out the world of stocks, not wanting to spend any own money as I was too scared and I not little ideas of how to pick good stocks. The free APPL $Apple (AAPL.US)$ stock given by Moomoo was a great encourager to try buying at least cheap stocks to see how it all works since even if I lose I can just sell off my precious 1 share of $Apple (AAPL.US)$ at $145 which was the price when I received the stock. I started to then build up my portfolio and adding more stocks like $NIO Inc (NIO.US)$ $Kaixin Holdings (KXIN.US)$ and other biotech Pharma stocks some actually did really well as I bought them at the bottom and did cost averaging as it went down like $Axsome Therapeutics (AXSM.US)$ which I achieved at least 39% profit😁😁. other stocks I picked up didn’t do quite so well today but had potential to fly the moon before the recent slump. I learning that this roller coaster 🎢 ride will have its ups and downs so I will hang on to see that high in due time! anyways it been a great learning experience with Moomoo without which I will still be standing outside in the world of investing. thank you Moomoo

Columns Sector Rotation?
What happened after FED's meeting?
We are currently having a sector rotation from tech growth stocks into value stocks after Wednesday's Fed policy of 3 rate hikes in 2022 instead of 2 and also speed up tapering and ending it a few months earlier than expected.
The initial taper plan was $10B for treasury securities and $5B for MBS (Mortgage Backed Securities) but now it has doubled the speed of tapering to $20B for treasury securities and $10B for MBS and tapering to end by March 2022. Which shortly after, rate hikes should come in progressively.
The reason for the fed turning hawkish and a quick shift to taper at a quicker pace and more rate hikes was due to inflation at a 40 year high. They also did not expect inflation to rise above 2% in 2021 and kept mentioning about higher inflation rate being transitory. Current inflation is at 6.8% based on the YOY report.
How did this affect the market on Thursday?
When tapering is sped up, liquidity will be tightened in the market. There will not be as much free cash to be pumped into the market to let prices rally like we have seen the last 2 years.
Interest rate hikes will also dampen valuation on growth stocks as growth stocks are priced in more to future earnings expectations. If rates rise, it will hurt those expectations. Investors will start to see bonds and value stocks that thrive in high-interest rate environments a better asset class thus making it more appealing against higher-risk growth stocks.
Small-cap stocks usually also suffer because they tend to loan more money to fund the growth of the company thus making them more sensitive towards the rate hikes.
Thus we saw the $NASDAQ 100 Index (.NDX.US)$ and $iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM.US)$ mostly small-cap and tech stocks falling much sharper than $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$ yesterday which consist mainly of value stocks.
What to do now? Should I exit my growth holdings?
That being said, inflation and rate hikes over the long run still don't pose a huge threat to growth stocks. It is usually short-term when the rotation happens towards value stocks. So take this opportunity to find good entry points into the stocks which are undergoing the selloff.
As always, trade safe & invest wise!
$Apple (AAPL.US)$ $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Meta Platforms (FB.US)$ $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ $Adobe (ADBE.US)$ $Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ.US)$ $SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average Trust (DIA.US)$

In 2021, moomoo became the place where investors could share their opinions and communicate freely with each other. The frequent interactions between the enthusiastic mooers have positively impacted the community. Mooers are moving in the same direction: making profits and improving themselves. It would take a long time and great effort for our dear mooers to achieve these goals. Why don't we take a look at ten of the year's valuable market insights and investing tips?
Spoiler: There's a chance to get points if you read till the end.
*The selected articles are listed randomly.
ONE: Is investing in Trump's new merger a good idea?
@HuatLadywrote about his concerns on the merger of Trump's company and a SPAC called the Digital World Acquisition Corp. We have to admit that he has a point!
"Forgive me for predicting that most likely his company's stock will not be viable for long term investment goal."
View more: Will Donald be able to deal his Trump Card?
TWO: What do you think of meme stocks?
@Machiavellis3rdEyeused vivid language to call for rational investing and remind mooers to watch out for media manipulations. Do you agree with him?
"You ARE ALL MY ALLIES, regardless of your investment choices, politics, religions, colors, sex, or anything else! I say we start learning and adapting to their constantly evolving illegal games (media manipulation, PFOF, CB's) together. Then we will all figure out how to take that cheese - without getting TRAPPED."
View more: When will we get off this bus to CRAZYTOWN?
THREE: What can we learn from the big picture?
@WYCKOFFPROanalyzed the trend of the Russell 2020 with technical tools. Has the market proved his assumptions?
"The breakout of the Russell 2000 gives the first confirmation of the scenario of possible rotation from big cap stocks to small cap stocks."

FOUR: Will the strong momentum of recovery stocks fade?
On Nov 5, Pfizer introduced a new COVID-19 antiviral pill that is expected to treat 89% of acutely hospitalized patients and thus reduce the risk of death. @HuatEveranticipated that Pfizer's share price would continue to climb once the FDA approved the new antiviral pill. What do you think?
"They hold the promise of cutting down the risk of severe Covid 19 ailments, hospitalisation stays and even deaths, and if being taken at the early onsets of infection. "

FIVE: EV stocks skyrocketing: Good buy or goodbye?
@Deviltonconducted an in-depth analysis on one of the most popular stocks, $Rivian, and pointed out that patience is a virtue in trading.
"Human are always impatient, we will always have FOMO if we sit and wait till Friday, scared that it stops falling and starts to rise again. Yet buying all tomo may not allow you to buy at the best price." View more here.
SIX: How do you decide when to buy/sell?
@HopeAlwayssaid that there is no best way to determine when to buy and when to sell the stocks of indexes. The timings depend on investing goals, philosophies, and personal preferences.
"The three main risks are company, valuation and earnings risks. Once we are able to find a stock that that signals low risk based on these three conditions, it is time to buy. Whenever a negative change happens to any of the three conditions, it is time to sell."

SEVEN: How do you know when to stop loss / take profit?
@Powerhousehas three underlying principles in stopping losses and taking profits. All investors should stay informed and closely observe trends to set price targets.
"For micro, there is a need to determine your present financial risk appetite figuratively. On the macro level, situations may have changed. Determining when is the most precise time to stop loss or take profit of a stock and milk the most out of it is extremely difficult."
View more: Stop the pain, take the happiness
EIGHT: What urges you to press the "trade" button?
@Panda2102has done macro research to sort out a list of companies and ranks them from different dimensions.
"The mission statement, the moat, the network effect, the switching cost, low cost advantage, optionality, the ratio for PE, PEG, Cash, Debt, Free Cash flow and the ownership of the company."

NINE: How to build a portfolio with a windfall of $1 million?
@Mars Mooothinks that the Squid Game Multi-Portfolio comprises four parts: player 456, player 218, player 067, and a liquid one.
"The first portfolio is aimed at potential sectors for diversification and profits. The second is designed to high risk lead high returns. The next one intent on helping on thr way. While the last one shows that cash is king."

TEN: How to profit from short-selling?
@Mcsnacks H Tupackshared that short-selling is highly popular on Wall Street and often carried out by aggressive hedge funds.
"Hedge funds acting through collaborating market makers can create huge numbers of counterfeit shares that can overwhelm buying demand. They have turned it into a casino and everyone knows the house always wins in that scenario."

U.S. futures rise as traders mull Powell's pivot
U.S. equity futures rose and Asian stocks looked set for a muted start Wednesday as traders weighed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's comments that officials should consider a faster removal of stimulus.
Australian shares slipped, while contracts for Japan and Hong Kong pointed to a cautious open. The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ slumped almost 2% overnight and measures of equity volatility jumped on the prospect of tightening monetary policy. The gap between yields on 5-year and 30-year U.S. Treasuries shrunk to the least since March last year.
Powell says Fed will discuss speeding up bond-buying taper at December meeting
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said he expects policymakers in December to discuss accelerating the timetable for the tapering of monthly bond purchases. Speaking before a Senate panel, he said tapering could wrap up "a few months sooner" than anticipated. That would open the door to interest rate hikes thereafter.
Powell also said "it's probably a good time to retire" the word "transitory" to describe inflation.
U.S. may tighten travel rules to fight Omicron, CDC head says
The agency is looking measures such as narrowing the testing window for travelers into the country and adding quarantine requirements in certain cases, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said Tuesday on a call with reporters. It's also expanding surveillance programs at four major airports to test for Covid from specific international arrivals.
VIX options trader reaps win in 19 hours as stocks resume swoon
A sizable bet that equity market volatility would worsen appears to have turned a tidy profit in less than a day.
About $13 million was spent last night on 65,000 December call contracts tied to the Cboe Volatility Index, with a strike price at 26. Similar volume erupted in the series this morning as the VIX jumped above 27, sending the options to as high as $3.55 after trading as low as $1.75 in the prior session.
Apple was the only tech stock that went up on Tuesday
$Apple (AAPL.US)$ stock closed up 3.1% on Tuesday as stocks tumbled on concerns of the new omicron Covid variant, showing investors see the company as a safe haven during market uncertainty. Needham analyst Laura Martin said investors turned to Apple on Tuesday because the company has prodigious cash flow, allowing it to endure any slowdowns in the economy and take advantage of falling prices.
Eco-friendly shoemaker Allbirds posts wider loss despite 33% gain in quarterly sales; shares fall
$Allbirds (BIRD.US)$ reported third-quarter revenue growth 33% from last year, while its losses widened. Co-founder and CEO Joey Zwillinger said the company saw notable strength in its stores in the United States, and shoppers responded well to new product launches. Shares fell around 6% in extended trading on the report
The company ended the quarter with 31 retail locations, including those outside the U.S.
It's not the first time Elon Musk's worried about the demise of SpaceX — he once thought it would be worth '$0'
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk sent a letter to his employees the day after Thanksgiving, in which he said the rocket company could be at "genuine risk of bankruptcy," unless it can speed up production of the Raptor engines that power its Starship rockets.
It's not SpaceX's first brush with serious financial risk: Musk has often spoken about how risky it was to launch the company in 2002, and how it nearly failed just a few years later. It's always possible that Musk is using the threat of bankruptcy as a motivational tactic for his employees. But the Raptor engines are essential to SpaceX's financial future — because the company will need its Starship rockets to launch its next genneratioon of Starlink satellites into orbit.
Facebook's executive in charge of cryptocurrency is leaving the company
David Marcus, the head of $Meta Platforms (FB.US)$ parent company Meta's cryptocurrency efforts, announced on Tuesday he will be leaving the company at the end of the year. Marcus's departure comes after the company tried and failed to launch a cryptocurrency that could be used by online users to send money to anyone in the world via Facebook products.

Growth will be at least %25/year. Unlike what books tell you, This inflation means value and growth stocks will cost more. The trillions of dollars infused to the economy will not evaporate.
