$Boeing (BA.US)$The head of the Federal Aviation Administration will tell a U.S. House panel tomorrow the agency is taking a new stance in overseeing safety efforts of Boeing and other airplane manufacturers.
"Our approach to aircraft certification and safety oversight has changed," agency Administrator Steve Dickson reportedly will say in prepared testimony before a Transportation Committee subcommittee. "We are prioritizing oversight of manufacturers and working to focus that oversight on safety-critical areas. We are delegating fewer responsibilities and demanding more transparency from them."
Separately, Bernstein analyst Douglas Harned says he expects to see "challenging" Q3 results from Boeing, despite the potential for recovery in six months.
Maintaining an Outperform rating but trimming his price target to $269 from $279, Harned points to Boeing's two overriding issues: 787 deliveries remaining shut down and 737 MAX deliveries in Q3 in line with his model.
A new defect on Boeing's 787 Dreamliner recently came to light, involving specific titanium parts that are weaker than they should be.

$Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ notched a fresh all-time high Wednesday as investors cheered the successful launch of the first U.S. bitcoin futures exchange-traded fund $ProShares Bitcoin ETF (BITO.US)$ .
The world’s largest cryptocurrency is now above $65000, according to Coin Metrics. The coin at its highs passed the $66,900 level Wednesday, topping a previous intraday record of $64,899 set in mid-April.
Big change since 2020:
$ProShares Bitcoin ETF (BITO.US)$ , which tracks bitcoin futures contracts pegged to the future price of the cryptocurrency, rose nearly 5% on its first day of trading Tuesday.
However, not everyone in the crypto market was impressed. “More products are great, but I just don’t see the point of investing in futures-based bitcoin ETFs when you can buy the asset in the spot market,” said Jodie Gunzberg, managing director of CoinDesk Indexes.

$PayPal (PYPL.US)$ $Pinterest (PINS.US)$ PayPal Holdings Inc. is exploring an acquisition of social media company Pinterest Inc., people with knowledge of the matter said, Bloomberg News reports.
San Jose, California-based PayPal has recently approached Pinterest about a potential deal, the people said, asking not to be identified because the talks are private. The companies have discussed a potential price of around $70 a share, which would value Pinterest at roughly $39 billion, one of the people said.
Some interesting questions:
1.What is the potential synergy between these two companies?
2.What is your price target for Pinterest? (Disclosure I'm a bagholder at $75).
3.This seems clearly like a planned leak. What is this leak trying to achieve?
4.Are there better companies for acquisition of Pinterest?
5.What is your long term view of Pinterest?
