It is still necessary to look at the fundamentals of stocks. If the selected company has energy, there is no need to worry about losses, just wait patiently. It is also possible to add to the position at the right time; but if the fundamentals are not good, then it is time to consider cutting losses.

Everyone will incur loss at some point in time. There will be paper loss and actual loss. If the stock is good and still have money, buy some more shares at much lower price like Charlie as we read about double his stake in Alibaba. if stock is lousy, one can choose to cut loss by selling away. Rather than look at the paper loss that emotionally pain you for many years. Even if u suffer actual loss on a stock counter in time, you may come in and pick up when it goes much low...

No pain no gain!
Having losses in some of the investments is part and parcel of the learning journey of investment. It's like how we learn to walk when we are still a baby - we fall down, we stand-up and try again, and we fall down again. After doing this cycle many times, we are able to walk properly. I realize this growth mindset is very much needed even when we are adult, so that we can always walk out from disappointment and self-doubting and self-blaming, and move forward to be a better sel...

Everyone makes mistakes, more so in judgement during this volatile times.
Move on and buy more when that stock price drops another 10-15% esp when conviction of that stock is high ie baba.

It is always easy to look at any investing decision from hindsight. When we hold off on buying a stock or sell a stock at the wrong time, it can feel crappy when looking at the loss. Every investor will somehow face losses in one way or another when the stock market indexes slide $Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)$, $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$, $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ or stocks tank for whatever reasons. No investor will escape losses, but every investor...
