From November 1, Uber drivers in the United States will be able to use Tesla electric cars leased from Hertz to provide services.
Earlier this week, Hertz placed a record order of 100,000 cars to Tesla. Uber issued a statement on its website on Wednesday that by 2023, Hertz will provide up to 50,000 Tesla electric vehicles to Uber drivers.
Uber said that these cars will initially be offered through Hertz's rental projects in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Washington, DC, and will be rolled out across the United States in the following weeks.
