The Phillips curve suggests there is an inverse relationship between inflation and unemployment. It was first put forward by British Economist, AW Phillips. When we see companies laying off employees, it somehow shows that inflation might be cooling off. When inflation stops going up, the fed will stop raising the interest rate, and the stock market may turn back to the bull market.
