We had a soft job report which both the Fed and market wants to see. US added 150,000 jobs, below the 170,000 estimate. Unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.9%, higher than expectations of 3.8%.
The robust labour market has been Fed’s headache. So now with a softer report, the market could cheer.
Add on to this, bond yields continue to fall
We could end the week as one of the best weeks for this year.

Q3 earnings season is right around the corner. Given the ongoing economic and inflation concerns, will be interesting to see how they will affect corporate earnings.
So many things have evolved since the last earnings report
Earnings are double edged sword, in my opinion. It can really swing either side. Therefore there is almost no need to guess how the market will move post earnings. Have plans for both bearish and bullish momentum

Many big tech stocks rebounded on Monday. Tesla popped a whopping 10%! 😱 Must be painful for the shorts. This is a good reminder on the risk of holding options over the weekends, and to take profits when you can.
Treasury Department Secretary Janet Yellen’s comments could have fueled the rally a little. On Sunday, Yellen said she’s feeling very good about a soft landing for US economy. She thinks US would avoid a recession while still containing inflation.
