$FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index (.KLSE.MY)$
For beginners, let's explain the concept of window dressing. In the stock market, window dressing is generally used in stock market indices, and usually occurs at the end or beginning of the month. If there is window dressing, the index will soar, sometimes just a little higher than the previous day. This has little impact on holders of high-quality stocks, long-term investors, or those who buy and hold for dividends, and generally does not receive much attention. However, for short-term investors or those specifically speculating on indices, this presents an opportunity for aggression, arbitrage, or exiting positions.
National Day is one of the most important days for a country. Index is an important investment indicator for investors worldwide to assess the national economy. Today is the last trading day of August, do you think it's a good time to give the storefront a fresh coat of paint?

Malaysia's GDP in the second quarter of 2024 grew by 5.9% year-on-year, the strongest growth rate since the end of 2022, and the full year growth is expected to be close to 5%.
Datuk Abdullasim, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, pointed out at a press conference today that the second quarter economic growth accelerated, thanks to a good labor market and increased policy support, which led to an increase in household spending and improved exports.
With the strengthening of growth momentum, Bank Negara Malaysia still maintains its original forecast of 4% to 5% annual growth, but Abdullasim said that the final growth rate is expected to be close to 5%.
Under the support of stable domestic demand, strong investment activity, and improved export performance, we believe that Malaysia's GDP growth rate this year will fall in the upper end of the 4% to 5% range.
He added that various indicators show that the country's economic growth prospects can continue into the second half of the year, such as further recovery of global orders driving export performance, issuance of more projects, and improved business confidence.
As for whether to consider adjusting the growth forecast, Abdullah said it depends on the announcement of the latest fiscal budget.
In any case, domestic demand remains cautious about potential downward risks to growth, including lower-than-expected external demand, escalated geopolitical conflicts, and lower-than-expected production of commodities in our country.
In the second quarter, private consumption increased by 6% year-on-year, higher than the 4.7% in the first quarter; private investment also increased by 12% year-on-year, compared to a growth rate of only 9.2% in the first quarter.

Yesterday Malaysia Men’s Double won a Bronze Medel and people once said “开门红“or “Make a good start” for the Malaysia team, Congrats!
However, for the current stock market in the U.S. market or KLCI, it might be a correction for the previously “too hot” market. According to technical analysis, the Dow Jones Index (DJI) is still at a higher level as compared to the previous and it’s still in an increasing trend. The dollar and Asian stocks fell as Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 US presidential election and supported He Jinli to take over.
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index $USD (USDindex.FX)$Fell 0.2% on Monday, with the Mexican peso rising.
Faced with constant pressure within the Democratic Party, Biden had to give up his re-election campaign and withdraw from the November election. The stock markets in Japan and South Korea opened lower, and the Australian stock market weakened. Hong Kong stock index futures held steady.
$Korea Composite Index (.KOSPI.KR)$
$Nikkei 225 (.N225.JP)$
$S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$
$Hang Seng Index (800000.HK)$
The question facing investors is whether it is still necessary to stick to Trump's trade since Biden has abandoned his bid for re-election.
The market may experience significant volatility as traders wait to see if He Jinli can win the party's nomination while weighing whether she can gather enough momentum to challenge Trump's current lead in the polls.
"People's subconscious reaction is that this is not good for the US dollar, but it is still too early to draw conclusions," said Olga Yankovskaya, director of emerging market research and strategy at Credit Agricole CIB.
"This largely depends on Hua Jili's initial appearance, the choice of campaign partners, and the reaction of swing state polls."
On the commodity side, crude oil and gold prices rose in early trading.
