Personally, we should make EV's, but not buying/use them. I agree to invest in the process of making because it's a hot item people are going for it. EVs it's a fad/trend, eventually is going to blow up in the entire world faces. Generally, I'm not a negative Nancy but this is not a good look.

its like the new space race …wich country can go all electric first.

I am a realist first of all. Ingredients are needed to make a great pie. will we buy ev's only to tell us we are destroying the electrical grids or too many blackouts we are causing. We will have to subsidise the power companies to update their systems. You are talking billions. Wouldn't hydrogen fuel be cheaper more abundance? These vehicles are too expensive until they all get thru stage one. Initial cost of production. Maybe 4 to 7 years from now they might be more reliable and...
