Phil Philosoraptor : Define bad?  there are people who would suggest increased manufacturing is bad. You really cant boil Trumps plan down to good or bad anyone doing that is really just expressing their opinion on the president himself. its risk vs rewards and that assessment depends on your expectation of what the US economy should look like and be based in is.
im short term Bearish because i think a lot of people believe come 4/2 he’ll changed it to limited taiffs on strategic resources or he’ll have trade deals to announce etc. i dont believe that personally and i think its gonna be a nasty surprise when they figure it out.
Again thats short term like the next 2 weeks short term. long term who knows theyll almost certianly be a spike in inflation Powell is confident its gonna transitory but for the presidents plan to work IRs must come down. comapnies are gonna need to finance US operations and they arent there for it atm. he also needs congress to fully cooperate
i understand the theory behind his plan it makes sense to me but i also dont benefit from our current economic structure. to someone whose done very well in like my old man itll see absurd
but basically one data point incresed manufacturing isnt a point to decide the good or bad of it. truthfully no one knows how itll shake out. its based on an economic  theory thats never really been tested no country has ever moved from and industrialized economy deindustialized into a tech and service based econmy then reindustrialized this is gonna be a first and there will like be ups and downs for the cotizenry along the way
