why do you think the bond yield is going to touch back the previous high again? bond market always look into every data, they don't scrape and look at surface data like retail investors.
look at the SPR supply. then you will know oil supply is at their lowest. because we are factoring in a recession. as the dollar starts to fall due to the bond market, commodities prices will only go up.
what you are looking at is stagflation. unless Trump decides to increase tax on the rich, stamps down spending in government and military, get another country like China to buy their bonds. it is very unlikely the bond market is going to gain back the trust.
razo2 OP TheOracleOfBroMaha : you cannot drill oil to solve an oil supply problem. if you are in the oil sector you will know that. again I don't want to nag my way, oil is a blend of Crude and Brent.
US do not have much sweet oil, most of the sweet oil is supplied by Saudi, Russia, Malaysia, Venezuela. you need these oils to blend with crude to have the most yield and optimise process in the oil distillation. otherwise you be choked with sulphur in your refinery.
Saudi oil is depleting already. unlike Russia which has very high potential to be the world global supplier for sweet oil. that is why NATO wants to get Ukraine into NATO. the rich wants Russia's sweet oil supply.
