Then your actions determine your life. That is to say, the way you think can define how you live. Keep grinding. Keep sharpening your mindset, prepare yourself for all challenges along the way. Stop questioning yourself when you're down. Try to put the blame on other people. Although it doesn't sound entirely politically correct. But it's a hack for having great weekends lol.

with the world being constantly in a state of upheaval there's really no way one can't be invested. that being said, Mr Buffet has a strategy of buy and hold for the long term growth of capital and investing in cash businesses such as insurance, travel and energy. I believe following that strategy and system is the best for potential growth and phenomenal roi. just my humble opinion though.
good luck out there, and remember this ain't for the weak! 😃

A video published yesterday by Inspired by Iceland, a marketing campaign for Icelandic tourism, takes aim at a Mark Zuckerberg video released in October announcing Facebook's name change to Meta. In it, Zuckerberg hypes the so-called "metaverse," a virtual world that "will be the successor to the mobile internet."
If the goal was to get people talking about Iceland, a new tourism video is more than succeeding.
The metaverse's defining quality, said Zuckerberg, is "the feeling of presence … like you're there with other people."
The video extolls Iceland's "completely immersive" experiences, such as its real rocks, real humans and "skies you can see with your eyeballs."
Reactions to the video were overwhelmingly positive, with people praising the "Olympic-level trolling" by Iceland officials, and many expressing a desire to visit.
Mooers, would you like to visit Iceland after watching this video?

Columns Does fund manager tenure matter?
What type of fund manager do you like? --Long-tenure or short-tenure fund manager?
First, let's specify the definition of "long-tenure" and "short-tenure". We use a range of zero to three years to define "short tenure", and six years and greater to define the "long tenure".
On a pretax basis, the average long-tenure manager underperforms the average short-tenure manager by 0.03 percentage point a year.
For posttax returns, long-tenure managers outperform short-tenure managers by 0.14 percentage point a year, on average.
Why does this reversal happen? The answer is that short-tenure managers are trading much more often than long-tenure managers. For investors, more trading means a much larger tax bill at the end of the day.

$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ So when do people perpetually living on tax dollars get around to paying their fair share? Bernie was a deadbeat his entire life until he figured out he could get paid by gullible taxpayers for being a deadbeat... Loudly. Now hes still on taxpayers dime, just a lot more of it, and still just as worthless.
Right now millionaires and billionaires pay over 80% of the taxes. When does Bernie start paying his share? He can't even tip a waitress properly.

If you have not read Marks books , I highly suggest picking them up , the best of the bunch in my opinion is his " How to trade like a stock market wizard " . Very valuable resource to any traders knowledge base .
One of the most important concepts from Marks book for me was the stage analysis. It's very useful and fairly easy to identify and asses if you know what you are looking for . The logic is that there are 4 stages of a stocks cycle , this is arguably true for most stocks. Even if stocks are not super-preformers, which Mark's book especially focuses on identifying, they will still often follow these 4 stages of movements.
The 4 stages are as follows :
Stage 1 is the neglect phase or "consolidation"
Stage 2 is the advancing stage or "accumulation"
Stage 3 is the Toping phase or "distribution"
Stage 4 is the declining phase or "capitulation"
$PayPal (PYPL.US)$ $Meta Platforms (FB.US)$ $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $SNDL Inc (SNDL.US)$

$Disney (DIS.US)$ DIS+ needs more content. The content they have made has been good but they need to increase it by 4x-5x to be worth staying subscribed all the time. Otherwise I'll just keep subscribing every 6 months for a few weeks to binge watch what is there and then cancel again.

COP26, UN's annual climate change conference has just concluded. The conference once again put spotlights on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), a hot trend in investing.
Finding companies with strong stocks and growth needn't be a trade-off with environmental, social and governance values. Companies like $Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ , $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ , $Salesforce (CRM.US)$ etc. mix profitability with ethical and social responsibility.
What’s your opinion on ESG?
Do you think ESG stocks have growth potential?
