Columns Inflation in February slowed down to 1.5%, but prices of certain items still increased by 3.7%.
Malaysia's inflation rate in February slowed to 1.5%. The increase in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels has eased, but price pressures remain for Personal Care, social protection, and miscellaneous grocery services.
The Malaysian Statistics Department released the Consumer Price Index (CPI), commonly known as the inflation rate report for February on Friday, showing that Malaysia's inflation rate in February was 1.5%, a decrease from 1.7% in January.
Authorities stated that inflationary pressure in Malaysia mainly comes from Personal Care, Social Protection, Grocery and Miscellaneous Services (3.7%), Education and Insurance (1.9%), and Financial Services (1.5%).
The slowdown in the growth of Lodging, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, as well as Entertainment, Sports, and Culture has alleviated inflationary pressure.
Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin, Chief Statistician of the Department of Statistics Malaysia, stated that the price Index for Information and Communications dropped by 5.3% in the month, and a similar cooling was seen in Clothing and Footwear, with prices decreasing by 0.2%.
Vegetable and meat prices have fallen.
As for the restaurant and lodging services (3.5%), food and beverages (2.5%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.9%) in February, they have all increased compared to January.
However, when breaking it down, prices of vegetables and meats have both declined. In terms of vegetables, prices fell by 1.0% in February.
The prices of local Pork and beef have decreased by 0.3% and 4.3% respectively, but the price of chicken has increased by 1.9%.

$Maybank Retail Money Market-I Fund (MYU0100A2266.MF)$ The money deducted on the 26th is used to pay dividends to cash users. This fund follows a monthly dividend distribution policy, with deductions around the end of the month on the 20s and entering your cash account by the end of the month on the 29th. Don't worry.
