When it comes to choosing stocks, it really comes down to how you invest. There are some companies that are worth for long term and some trading at short term will give you higher profits.
Long term
Usually these are the blue chips companies or companies you believe it will grow in. For example, you look at how AMD is winning Intel $INTC.US$ on the news and your trust for AMD $AMD.US$ is better. Then you can enter one of them as long term.
Short term
For short term, usually I would check on social media for the trends or how the community is moving. Most famously is wallstreetbets but this comes with its risk.
These are how I pick my stocks but then again I’m just a newbie. If theres any more advise I am willing to learn.
