The report outlines Walmart's due diligence and reasonable country of origin inquiries (RCOIs) regarding the sourcing of Conflict Minerals, which are used in some of the goods sold by the company's retail stores. Walmart's Global Conflict Minerals Compliance Policy and a system of controls and procedures have been established to ensure that the Conflict Minerals sourced by its third-party suppliers do not contribute to armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and adjoining countries. The company's RCOIs have identified nine suppliers and 249 in-scope products containing Necessary Conflict Minerals from thirteen Conformant Smelters in various countries.
