From what we can see, insiders were net sellers in Innoviva, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:INVA ) during the past 12 months. That is, insiders sold the stock in greater numbers than they purchased it.

s(纳斯达克股票代码:INVA)在过去的12个月中。

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Innoviva

Innoviva

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Chief Accounting Officer & Secretary, Marianne Zhen, for US$154k worth of shares, at about US$14.01 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of US$16.37. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. It is worth noting that this sale was only 21% of Marianne Zhen's holding. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Marianne Zhen.

Insider Ownership Of Innoviva

Innoviva

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Our data indicates that Innoviva insiders own about US$7.6m worth of shares (which is 0.8% of the company). Overall, this level of ownership isn't that impressive, but it's certainly better than nothing!
