NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) on Tuesday announced new AI services to supercharge AI for enterprises in connection with Meta Platforms Inc's (NASDAQ:META) release of open source large language model Llama 3.1.

What To Know: Meta on Tuesday announced the launch of Llama 3.1 405B. The company said it's the first openly available model that rivals top AI models when it comes to general knowledge, steerability, math, tool use and multilingual translation.

In connection with Meta's Llama 3.1 release, Nvidia announced a new AI foundry, as well as NIM inference microservices for the collection of openly available models.

Nvidia AI Foundry, powered by the Nvidia DGX Cloud AI platform, aims to give enterprises significant compute resources that easily scale as AI demands change. Nvidia also said its NIM inference microservices for Llama 3.1 models are now available for download and aim to supercharge enterprise deployments of Llama 3.1 models for production AI.

With Nvidia AI Foundry, the chipmaker said enterprises and nations can now create custom "supermodels" for their domain-specific industry use cases using Llama 3.1 combined with Nvidia software, computing and expertise. Enterprises will be able to train these supermodels with proprietary data, as well as synthetic data generated from Llama 3.1 405B and the Nvidia Nemotron Reward model.

Meta shares were up about 1.45% at the time of writing.
