Kamala Harris's campaign said that the "debate about debates is over," while signaling that there will be another presidential debate in October after the vice president faces off for the first time against Donald Trump on Sept. 10.

The campaign also rejected the idea of another vice presidential debate. Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz have agreed to an Oct. 1 debate sponsored by CBS News, but Vance today also said that he had agreed to another face off, a Sept. 18 event hosted by CNN.

Michael Tyler, communications director for the Harris campaign, said in a statement, "The debate about debates is over. Donald Trump's campaign accepted our proposal for three debates — two presidential and a vice presidential debate. Assuming Donald Trump actually shows up on September 10 to debate Vice President Harris, then Governor Walz will see JD Vance on October 1 and the American people will have another opportunity to see the vice president and Donald Trump on the debate stage in October.

"Voters deserve to see the candidates for the highest office in the land share their competing visions for our future. The more they play games, the more insecure and unserious Trump and Vance reveal themselves to be to the American people. Those games end now."

As of now, Harris and Trump have committed to the September debate, to be hosted by ABC News.

It's unclear who will be sponsoring the October debate. Trump had previously floated additional debates on Fox News or NBC News, as networks jockey to land at least one of the ratings bonanzas.

An NBC News spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.
