Insider Sellers Might Regret Selling Sprinklr Shares at a Lower Price Than Current Market Value

Insider Sellers Might Regret Selling Sprinklr Shares at a Lower Price Than Current Market Value

Even though Sprinklr, Inc. (NYSE:CXM) has fallen by 13% over the past week , insiders who sold US$14m worth of stock over the past year have had less luck. Given that the average selling price of US$12.98 is still lower than the current share price, insiders would probably have been better off keeping their shares.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Sprinklr Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider, R. David Tabors, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$3.9m worth of shares at a price of US$12.10 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$7.79). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
