TAMPA, Fla. — Spectrum announced today its nearly 45,000 Spectrum WiFi hotspots will remain open in Florida in advance of Hurricane Milton. These WiFi access points were originally opened to the public on September 26 ahead of Hurricane Helene and will remain open in communities expected to be impacted by Hurricane Milton, including Tampa, Orlando, Bradenton, St. Petersburg and Melbourne, Florida. Spectrum will proactively notify customers via their preferred communication method if their services are impacted. For regular updates and the latest information on restoration activity after the storm clears, customers should visit . Quickly restoring services after a major hurricane requires a significant amount of planning, preparation and operational logistics. Before Hurricane Milton, Spectrum technicians and engineers are staged and positioned in strategic locations. Spectrum coordinates with the local power companies, as technicians need power to be restored before they can begin to make many necessary repairs. Often, services are restored for Spectrum customers as soon as power comes back online.
