Insiders were net buyers of Altus Power, Inc.'s (NYSE:AMPS ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders bought more stock than they sold.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Altus Power Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Altus Power

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by CEO & Director Gregg Felton for US$322k worth of shares, at about US$3.90 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is US$4.12. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. The good news for Altus Power share holders is that an insider was buying at near the current price. Gregg Felton was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.

Gregg Felton bought 162.50k shares over the last 12 months at an average price of US$4.01. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below.
