Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Erasca
Erasca
The Independent Director Alexander Casdin made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$182k worth of shares at a price of US$2.27 each. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of US$2.74. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

Insider Ownership
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Erasca insiders own about US$92m worth of shares. That equates to 12% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
So What Does This Data Suggest About Erasca Insiders?
It doesn't really mean much that no insider has traded Erasca shares in the last quarter. On a brighter note, the transactions over the last year are encouraging. Insiders own shares in Erasca and we see no evidence to suggest they are worried about the future. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
