2021 what a year! 💪🏻🎉

Started using Moomoo in 2021 because a friend referred me and I was very impressed. I used to use SC trading platform and find it really hard to trade or invest due to the leak of tools, features, app UI/UX and real time data. But Moomoo was different. So I transferred most of my stocks over and started using more activity.

In 3 months I have learnt a lot from all the news, sharing from fellow investors and the informations that the platform provides. my overall portfolio has gain more than 20% in 3 months with some main stocks like $蘋果 (AAPL.US)$ $特斯拉 (TSLA.US)$ $美交所 (AMEX.US)$ $英偉達 (NVDA.US)$ $聯合大陸航空 (UAL.US)$ etc.

3 key lessons I learnt in 2021
1) Don’t buy the stock just because you like it.
Many a time I wanted to buy the stock just because I like the company and I think it’s cool. but end up losing money. You need to do your basic research, fundamental / technical analysis before taking a position.

2) Diversification is key!
I was so tempted all the time when Tesla or Apple is doing well to sell all and just buy more of it. But I always remind myself don’t put all the eggs in one basket. To continue to make sustainable gains you need to set some rules and SOPs and stick to the game plan. Don’t be tempted by the ups and downs. Keep clam and keep investing

3) Have a plan for the year!
I set a goal in the beginning of 2021 to make 30% profits and I started my game plan of looking at stocks that I can buy and hold, quick trades and apply the rules strictly. I managed to gain more than 30% YTD.
I made lots of wrong trades but the key is to have more right trades than wrong trades. it’s never about making all the trades right. Even professionals can’t do that.

3 rules that I follow:
1) Invest within your risk appetite
2) Don’t blinding follow the trends
3) Invest with money you can afford to lose

Last but not least the one cool thing I did was to start referring Moomoo to my friends and get them started on this journey of investing and building wealth. All of them was glad that they started using the platform. Not to mention the free shares helped a lot! lol.
