Stock Analysis
US investment bank Jefferies downgraded Apple's stock rating from "buy" to "hold", citing concerns that market expectations for the AI capabilities of the new iPhone are overly optimistic.
💡mooer's insights
@10baggerbamm: "how frustrating is it watching the market rally to all-time highs and apple sits here like a bump ona log (that's what my first grade teacher used to say about certain kids in class) "
Futu Holdings' share price fell by over 13%. Despite this, CICC maintained its "outperform" rating on the company and increased its target price to $188. This decision was primarily based on two factors: the rapid growth in acquiring new customers in emerging markets and the rebound of China Concept stocks and the Hang Seng Technology Index.
💡mooer's insights
"irregardless of the package content, futu will benefit greatly from the increase vol n it's future growth. have faith, HOLD."
@Ultratech: "Hopefully pulling back for more of whatever sent it. I'm happy either way just holding long. i ride positions up and down. never fear. if for some reason it goes lower then where I buy it at then I buy more, i doubt this will happen so I don't care. "
Last week, BHP's share price fell over 3%. BHP and India's largest government-owned steel producer, SAIL, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on decarbonizing steel production, focusing on lower-carbon technologies for the blast furnace route in India.
💡mooer's insights
@CyberMongrel: "Yes I have a positive view point on BHP but they have to haul ass to export as much copper as they can dig up, preferably buy existing mines that are shovel ready or are in production. Anglo would have been beautiful, but Glencore of course along with Trafigura, Mercuria & Cofco had other ideas about protecting their money tree. Henry would have been vomiting out the back of the Boardroom im sure of it."
Tencent's share price dropped by over 8%. Despite this decline, Citi maintained its "buy" rating on the company and increased the target price from HK$535.00 to HK$573.00, anticipating growth in Tencent's profits.
💡mooer's insights
AMD's stock price fell nearly 2%. During the Advancing AI 2024 event in San Francisco, the company unveiled a series of new products, including the next generation of Ryzen CPUs, Instinct AI computing cards, and EPYC AI chips.
💡mooer's insights
@Master Corgi: "No lobster today… 🐶 AMD could be more but lazy to wait longer gotta start my day 😆"
Due to the incentive policy falling short of expectations, Chinese concept stocks experienced significant volatility. As a result, Yinn's share price dropped by more than 20% last week.
💡mooer's insights
@loozoo: "Since HSI and SSE are already closed. Why doesn't YINN follow the price of HSI futures?(which is currently trading actively on HK night session, uptil the end of US regular trading hour) which provides long enough price reference for YINN isn't it? YINN chart looks worse (bearish chart) compared to HSI futures. Is it manipulation or just pure regional sentiment and lagging?"
In the coming years, major tech companies will encounter intense competition as emerging software and data management firms gradually capture market share. Rahul Bhushan, Managing Director of Ark Invest Europe, noted that companies like Palantir Technologies are poised to disrupt the current landscape dominated by Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
💡mooer's insights
@102673361: "i want it to go up. i brought and will hold. i honeslty think this once in a life time stock. I look at Lockheed martin and other government, security or defence backed stock. almost all has more than 10x."
CBA shares have risen slightly. According to a Thursday note from Jarden Research, Australian banks are expected to deliver "resilient" results for fiscal 2024, supported by broadly stable margins and normalizing credit quality.
💡mooer's insights
@JC7577: "I don't need fancy theoretical TA to tell me there is support around $132.20 and resistance at the $145. 24 all time high. RSI is on the up which should help clear 20 and 30 day EMA in this upswing."
@Wealthy Leio: "Now there is more $BHP.AU$ selling and buying $CBA$ to keep market from falling too much and scaring investors. Global funds are earning their fees today! 🤣"
