Ford knows for sure that Rivian can not make any money on their trucks with $135K battery packs. It is impossible, allright, unless the price is over $100K. Then again, how many you can sell over $100K? Humongous cash burn in the next year will show it everybody anyway.
Let's look at $大眾汽車(ADR)(VWAGY.US$ in China. It is trying to sell ID vehicles in China at 40% off the price it is selling in Europe. Yeah, VW can only sell IDs in China if it prices them lower than $BYD Co.(BYDDF.US$ models. $特斯拉(TSLA.US$ and Chinese will determine how much you can ask for your mass-market EV, not the cost of the vehicle.
