Started trading for the lure of quick profits.
Stayed because of the passion- in this line of work, you don’t exchange your time for a salary, knowing your hard work lines the pockets of the rich. You know you are creating something of value- you work for yourself, you put in the time to study, practice and you put your money on the line. Whatever you make in the markets is yours to keep, and whatever strategy you work on (even if it improves win rate by 1-2%), belongs to you, and no one can take that away from you
People talk about financial freedom and think placing a single or few trades will make you really rich, but the reality is that to trade profitably and consistently is required a ton of hard work. Trading is a game of chance. And I love a game of chance where I’m the casino/house :)
