Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
Adeia Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Adeia
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Chief Licensing Officer & GM of Media, Mark Kokes, sold US$203k worth of shares at a price of US$9.91 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of US$11.85. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. We note that the biggest single sale was only 13% of Mark Kokes's holding. Mark Kokes was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Does Adeia Boast High Insider Ownership?
Adeia
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. Adeia insiders own about US$31m worth of shares. That equates to 2.4% of the company. While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
