On Monday, Bursa Malaysia experienced a sharp decline, with 1,151 counters plunging into the red as investors exited following the recent surge in equity prices.
The benchmark FBM KLCI dropped 17.24 points, closing the early session at 1,619.31, effectively undoing all gains achieved over the past two weeks.
The market saw significant selling pressure across various sectors, with a morning turnover of 3.57 billion shares traded, totaling RM1.9 billion.
The hardest-hit sectors included financial services, utilities, energy, and property.
