We wouldn't blame T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ:TMUS) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Raul Claure, the Independent Director recently netted about US$23m selling shares at an average price of US$198. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 3.0%.

T-Mobile US Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent sale by Independent Director Raul Claure was not the only time they sold T-Mobile US shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -US$547m worth of shares at a price of US$180 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of US$199. We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. This single sale was just 44% of Raul Claure's stake.
