Denza, the premium brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), will officially launch the Z9 sedan at the 2024 Guangzhou auto show on November 15, the brand's head of sales, Zhao Changjiang, said on Weibo today.

The Guangzhou auto show began in 2003, and this year the event will be held from November 15-24.

Denza Z9 is positioned as a D-segment smart luxury flagship sedan, Zhao said.

Denza today released some images of the Z9 on Weibo, showing off interior details.

Denza started the pre-sale of the Z9GT, another model in the Z series, on August 20 with a pre-sale price range of RMB 339,800 ($47,720) to RMB 419,800

It then gave the model's regular sedan version, the Z9, a brief debut and began pre-sales at the same price.

The Z9GT was officially launched on September 20 at a starting price of RMB 334,800, offering three plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants and two battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.

The Z9GT received more than 5,000 firm orders in the first 36 hours of its launch, Denz announced on September 22.

The Z9 entered a regulatory filing catalog in China on September 13, allowing the exterior and core specifications to be revealed.

The Denza Z9 has two pages in that filing, including a PHEV version and a BEV version.

It measures 5,220 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width and 1,500/1,518 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

Like the Denza Z9GT, the Z9 will be powered by three electric motors with peak power of 230 kW, 240 kW, and 240 kW, according to its filing information.

BYD Denza launches tri-motor-equipped Z9GT with starting price of $47,460
