Microsoft Corp.-backed (NASDAQ:MSFT) OpenAI has outlined its plans to transition its for-profit entity into a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation (PBC).

Additionally, Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) has also expressed concerns, arguing that the shift could have significant implications for Silicon Valley.

OpenAI's current structure led to the ousting of CEO Sam Altman last November, causing investor dissatisfaction, particularly from Microsoft. The company continues to face challenges, including talent outflow and concerns about prioritizing commercial products over safety.
