U.S. Tech giants are entering the nuclear power sector!
On October 16, $アマゾン･ドットコム (AMZN.US)$ signed three agreements to support nuclear energy development through small modular reactor (SMR) projects. This week, $アルファベット クラスC (GOOG.US)$ announced plans to purchase power from Kairos Power, a small modular reactor developer, to advance AI. Last month, $マイクロソフト (MSFT.US)$ partnered with Constellation to revive a defunct reactor at the notorious Three Mile Island plant in Pennsylvania. Following this announcement, $コンステレーション・エナジー (CEG.US)$ 's stock jumped 22%, bringing its year-to-date gains to over 119%, while other uranium and nuclear stocks also saw varied increases.
Large tech companies are turning to alternative energy sources like nuclear power as a means to meet the increasing energy demands of data centers.
