Singapore's Straits Times Index opened some 19 points higher on Tuesday and remained bullish throughout the session, rising nearly 1% at the close, after global equities rallied overnight.

During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,144.48 and 3,170.40, ending 0.97% or 30.47 points higher at 3,156.15.

In corporate news, CapitaLand Investment (SGX:9CI) acquired two industrial properties in Singapore and a freehold greenfield site in Bangkok, sending the company's shares up by nearly 2% at market close.

City Developments (SGX:C09) closed over 1% higher on Tuesday, on news that the property developer has acquired Yardhouse, a private rented sector property in Central London, UK, for 88 million pounds sterling.

Fraser and Neave (SGX:F99) shares rose nearly 2% on Tuesday's close, as it booked a profit attributable to shareholders of SG$43.8 million in the fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, 2023, up 52.9% from SG$28.6 million a year earlier.
