Malaysian shares closed higher on Monday, extending gains from the previous session. The index was buoyed by steady buying from foreign investors.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, gained 5.06 points to end 0.33% higher at 1,538.61. The day ranged between 1,530.58 and 1,539.25.
In economic news, investment banks expect Malaysia's economy to expand between 4.4% and 4.8% in 2024. The banks expect consumer spending to be boosted by the central bank's measures.
In corporate news, shares of the energy infrastructure company Reneuco (KLSE:RENEUCO) soar over 36%, and those of TH Plantations (KLSE:THPLANT) rallied 17%.
Meanwhile, shares of industrial products manufacturer TSA Group (KLSE:TSA) jumped about 17% today.
