Malaysian shares ended in black on Thursday in a volatile trading session. The index pared losses of the previous session as investor interest rebounded.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, the main gauge of Malaysian stocks, added 5.62 points to end 0.37% higher at 1,543.75. The day ranged between 1,533.80 and 1,543.75.
In economic news, Malaysia's upstream oil and gas (O&G) industry continues to attract investors or petroleum arrangement contractors, reflected by participation in previous petroleum bidding rounds, said The Fitch solutions company BMI.
In corporate news, shares of the management services provider MyTech Group (KLSE:MYTECH) surged 31%, and those of the confectioneries maker Apollo Food (KLSE:APOLLO) rose 5% today.
Meanwhile, shares of Malaysia Airports Holdings (KLSE:AIRPORT) gained 4% on Thursday's close.
