Possible Bearish Signals With Allegiant Travel Insiders Disposing Stock

アレジアントトラベルのインサイダーが株式を処分している可能性がある弱気シグナル

Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ:ALGT) shareholders may have reason to be concerned, as several insiders sold their shares over the past year. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Allegiant Travel Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The President, Gregory Anderson, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$403k worth of shares at a price of US$100.00 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$70.06). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.

Insiders in Allegiant Travel didn't buy any shares in the last year. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership Of Allegiant Travel

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that Allegiant Travel insiders own 18% of the company, worth about US$223m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
