Singapore's Strait Times Index rose on Thursday, despite mixed results in regional indices.
During the day, the benchmark Singapore Strait Times Index ranged between 3,205.68 and 3,232.12, ending 0.31% or 9.91 points lower at 3,227.61.
Investors in the local equities market tracked losses on Wall Street after US inflation data exceeded estimates, quashing expectations for rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve.
In company news, Jadason's (SGX:J03) shares surged 20% even after the the company's attributable loss rose to SG$8.0 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, compared with a loss of SG$6.9 million in the year-ago period.
Shares of Nera Telecommunications (SGX:N01) were down over 1%, after the company posted a 2023 attributable income of SG$5.5 million, or SG$0.0157 per share, reversing a loss of SG$5.5 million, or SG$0.0201 per share.
Shares of RH Petrogas (SGX:T13) slumped over 2% even though the company logged a 2023 attributable profit of $2.6 million, or $0.0031 per share, down sharply from $20.1 million, or $0.0241 per share.
