Anghami Inc. (NASDAQ:ANGH) Stocks Pounded By 45% But Not Lagging Industry On Growth Or Pricing

Anghami Inc.(NASDAQ:ANGH)の株式は45%の打撃を受けたが、成長または価格設定において業種に遅れを取っていない

Anghami Inc. (NASDAQ:ANGH) shares have retraced a considerable 45% in the last month, reversing a fair amount of their solid recent performance. Instead of being rewarded, shareholders who have already held through the last twelve months are now sitting on a 25% share price drop.

Although its price has dipped substantially, it's still not a stretch to say that Anghami's price-to-sales (or "P/S") ratio of 1.8x right now seems quite "middle-of-the-road" compared to the Entertainment industry in the United States, where the median P/S ratio is around 1.4x. Although, it's not wise to simply ignore the P/S without explanation as investors may be disregarding a distinct opportunity or a costly mistake.

How Has Anghami Performed Recently?

For instance, Anghami's receding revenue in recent times would have to be some food for thought. Perhaps investors believe the recent revenue performance is enough to keep in line with the industry, which is keeping the P/S from dropping off. If you like the company, you'd at least be hoping this is the case so that you could potentially pick up some stock while it's not quite in favour.

Do Revenue Forecasts Match The P/S Ratio?

The only time you'd be comfortable seeing a P/S like Anghami's is when the company's growth is tracking the industry closely.

Taking a look back first, the company's revenue growth last year wasn't something to get excited about as it posted a disappointing decline of 15%. Even so, admirably revenue has lifted 36% in aggregate from three years ago, notwithstanding the last 12 months. So we can start by confirming that the company has generally done a very good job of growing revenue over that time, even though it had some hiccups along the way.

Weighing that recent medium-term revenue trajectory against the broader industry's one-year forecast for expansion of 11% shows it's about the same on an annualised basis.

In light of this, it's understandable that Anghami's P/S sits in line with the majority of other companies. Apparently shareholders are comfortable to simply hold on assuming the company will continue keeping a low profile.

What Does Anghami's P/S Mean For Investors?

Anghami's plummeting stock price has brought its P/S back to a similar region as the rest of the industry. It's argued the price-to-sales ratio is an inferior measure of value within certain industries, but it can be a powerful business sentiment indicator.

It appears to us that Anghami maintains its moderate P/S off the back of its recent three-year growth being in line with the wider industry forecast. Currently, with a past revenue trend that aligns closely wit the industry outlook, shareholders are confident the company's future revenue outlook won't contain any major surprises. If recent medium-term revenue trends continue, it's hard to see the share price moving strongly in either direction in the near future under these circumstances.
