Singapore shares closed higher on Thursday after the U.S. Federal Reserve left rates unchanged.
During the day, the benchmark Singapore Strait Times Index ranged between 3,285.30 and 3,324.77, ending 0.13% or 4.20 points higher at 3,296.89.
In company news, shares of DBS Group (SGX:D05) were up nearly 2% after it posted a 15% jump in net profit for the first quarter, hitting a quarterly high, after total income climbed 13% year over year.
Shares of Nera Telecommunications (SGX:N01) were down nearly 1% after group revenue for the first quarter ended March 31 was down 44.7% to SG$22.3 million, compared with SG$40.3 million in the year-ago period.
Meanwhile, Oversea-Chinese Banking's (SGX:O39) shares were up nearly 1% after it completed the acquisition of PT Bank Commonwealth Indonesia, (PTBC) through its subsidiary, PT Bank OCBC NISP.
