The Selangor water management company Air Selangor has announced the temporary suspension of four water treatment plants namely Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (LRA Rantau PanJang) as well as Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1, Sungai Selangar Water Treatment Plant Phase 2, and Sungai Selangors Water Treatment Plant Phase 3 (LRA SSSP3) due to Odor pollution incident in Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.
Following the suspension of those four LRAs, seven provinces namely Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor will start having unscheduled water supply disruption. The mangement company said the full list of affected areas will be shared soon.
The company said it is doing its best to minimize the impact on consumers. Alternative assistance through water tanker lorries will be deployed to the affected areas, giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers and funeral ceremonies throughout this period of unscheduled water supply disruption.
