Looking at Onewo Inc.'s (HKG:2602 ) insider transactions over the last year, we can see that insiders were net buyers. That is, there were more number of shares purchased by insiders than there were sold.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Onewo

The GM & Executive Chairman Baoquan Zhu made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$151m worth of shares at a price of HK$4.31 each. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (HK$19.36), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

Insider Ownership

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It's great to see that Onewo insiders own 7.7% of the company, worth about HK$1.8b. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

It is good to see the recent insider purchase. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence.
