Sunway Group has announced the ground breaking for the Sunway Ipoh Mall which will be located at the heart of Sunway City Ipoh the largest integrated township in Malaysia's state of Perak spanning approximately 1,350 acres. The township is recognised as the catalyst of growth for the Eastern Development Corridor of Ipoh.

Surrounded by the award winning amenities including theme park, hospitality, healthcare, education, residential and commercial components including the Lost World of Tambun Theme Park; The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, Malaysia's first luxury natural hot springs wellness retreat; and Jeff's Cellar, a renowned culinary gem nestled within a 260-million-year-old cave will now include the shopping mall.

Sunway Ipoh Mall will be Perak's largest mall and is expected to open in 2027. With a net lettable area of over 1 million square feet across four retail floors, the mall will feature its own exhibition centre to host various events. Sunway Ipoh Mall will boast
Perak's first ice-skating rink, operated by our team of Sunway Ice experts. Additional indoor entertainment options include a 36-lane bowling centre and a sports centre designed for family outings and gatherings. The mall will also house a 10-hall cinema with approximately 1,500 seats.

With a total investment of RM1 billion, the 4 storey mall will take on the facade emulating the surrounding limestone hills, offering a visually harmonious connection to the natural landscape. A unique gourmet garden will enhance visitors' dining experience with nature.

Sunway Group founder and Chairman, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah who is incidently an Ipoh boy said the mall will have key tenants and anchor tenants when it opens, the generous tycoon also invited local businessess to take up space at the mall which he said will be more than willing to subsidise for them.

Apart from catering for the community in Ipoh and Perak, the Sunway Mall Ipoh will also aim to capture footfall from commuters plying the north south expressway heading to Penang or coming down to Kuala Lumpur. The location is somewhat strategic being just 10km off the main Ipoh exit offering as a pit-stop destination to dine, rest, and experience Ipoh's natural limestone hills.
