Maybank has revealed that the Maybank2u MY app will be discontinued from 28 August. Existing users are advised to switch to the MAE app to continue accessing online banking services.
In its announcement on the website, Maybank stated, "If you have not yet downloaded the MAE app, please do so as soon as possible as you will no longer be able to access your account or any features on the Maybank2u MY app after this date (28 August)."
The bank further noted that the Maybank2u MY app is no longer available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
New users of the MAE app will need to register for Secure2u, Maybank's security authorisation feature, through the app. They must then complete the registration process at a Maybank ATM to activate Secure2u.
Maybank also emphasised that a minimum 12-hour activation period will apply to first-time Secure2u activations to prevent unauthorised approvals.
