HB Global Limited announce the appointments of Datuk Michael Kang Hua Keong as Executive Director (ED) and Dato Haji Mohd Hizzat bin Mohd Shah as Independent Director (ID), effective 20 August 2024.

The group in a statement said both individuals bring extensive experience in their respective fields of marine engineering, information technology, and business management. They will join the current Board to provide strategic guidance and leadership within the Group.

Datuk Michael Kang is a veteran corporate leader with over 20 years of experience in marine engineering and information technology. Throughout his distinguished career, Hel has been a staunch advocate for the small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs) sector in Malaysia. His significant contributions to policymaking and crisis management, coupled with his close collaborations with various government ministries, agencies, NGOs, and private sector organisations, have made him a pivotal figure in the industry. His other directorships include serving as the Independent Director of BGM International Limited (HK Listed), Managing Director and CEO of SMB Connection Sdn Bhd, and Director of SMB Solutions Management Sdn Bhd, among others.

Dato Haji Mohd Hizzat bin Mohd Shah, who joins the Board as an Independent Director, is a distinguished leader in the tourism and travel industry. With academic qualifications in Shariah law and tourism management, Dato Haji Mohd Hizzat has been instrumental in driving innovation and excellence across several companies that he is involved in. His directorship roles include serving as a Director at Al-Furqan Group Sdn Bhd, Al-Furqan Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd, Al-Furqan Management and Services, and MSZ REE Sdn Bhd.
