Pharmaniaga Berhad announced that it had received a notice from PricewaterhouseCoopers PLT stating their resignation as the External Auditors of the Company voluntarily.
The board said that it is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the Company. It noted that PwC has served as the External Auditors for the Company for the past 19 years, and the Board agrees that the resignation and the subsequent appointment of new External Auditors would allow a fresh perspective for the Board and the Company. The change it added also intended to align with the Groupwide approach to streamline its External Auditors.
It has also announced the appointment of Ernst & Young ("EY") after assessing their independence, capabilities, audit team and proposed audit fees.
